Our Team

Kiwi Maintenance was first formed in 2010, with a vision for a one source solution to exterior building maintenance requirements. Our Services cover Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington. With specialist teams also doing work all over the North and South Island regions. Kiwi has recently started several National contracts and are now servicing areas of the South Island. Where we expect a branch to open in 2019.

Chris Tietjens (Director)

Chris joined the team as General Manager in 2012. Chris has spent his entire career since graduating from Auckland University, in the service industry, in cleaning and facility management, and was General Manager of a national service provider prior to joining Kiwi Maintenance Group.

With a strong understanding of Health & Safety, Chris has been heavily involved in the growth of Height Services work. Chris believes in building strong customer relationships through delivering great service.

Nick Bakalich (Director)

Kiwi Maintenance Group was established in 2010 by Nick Bakalich in response to clients demand for quality of work, customer service and providing a one source solution to all building maintenance requirements. Nick has been in the Building Service Industry for over 25 years.

In starting Kiwi Maintenance Group, Nick made the decision to expand the number of services to include a full range of Building Maintenance solutions. A one stop source for all your exterior building maintenance needs.

Gareth de Silva (Director)

Gareth joined Kiwi Maintenance Group in 2015 in Operations/Facilities Manager Role. He has a number of years’ experience working with a number of large corporates in co-ordination project management, preventative and ready response maintenance for a variety of clients.

With a wide range of knowledge in various trades. Gareth was made a Director in 2017.


Alan McIntyre

Alan began Masta Blasta Services Ltd in 1981. The business grew to service both residential and corporate clients with nationwide sites. In 2014 Masta Blasta Services Ltd was acquired by Kiwi Maintenance Group, with Alan taking a shareholding in the company and was a Director of Kiwi Maintenance Group until March 2018.

Alan has a wealth of knowledge in external cleaning and whilst now semi-retired he maintains a shareholding and is responsible for training and technical advice.


Wayne Tollemache (Non Executive Chair)

A seasoned international senior executive and passionate director, Wayne is a strategic thinker by nature and experience. His professional experiences have taken him around the world where he has led significant change at a senior level in multiple countries and cultures.

A Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors (NZ), Wayne has extensive experience in turning around companies who are under performing or stagnating and works with a number of small and medium sized companies in both business advisory and governance roles.
